As autumn unfolds with vibrant leaves and cooler temperatures, it’s the perfect time to savor comforting flavors.

This Green Tea Spinach Banana Smoothie makes a delightful and nutritious breakfast to start your day as the mornings turn crisp.

Here’s what you need:

● 1 Cup of Water

● 1 Teaspoon of Loose Green Tea OR 1 Green Tea Pod

● 1 Ripe Banana (Preferably Frozen For Creaminess)

● 1/2 Cup Fresh Spinach

● 1 Tablespoon Almond Butter

● 1-2 Tablespoon Honey OR Maple Syrup (To Taste)

● 1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon Powder

● Ice Cubes (Optional, For Thickness)

For Garnish

● Whipped Cream

● Chopped Nuts

It’s time to brew!

Step 1

Prep the ingredients

  • Freeze the Banana: Peel and slice the banana, then freeze it for at least a couple of hours to add creaminess to the smoothie.
  • Gather Other Ingredients: Measure out fresh spinach, almond butter, maple syrup and cinnamon powder. Set aside.

Step 2

Brew the Green Tea

  • Boil water and steep 1 teaspoon of loose leaf green tea for about 3 minutes. Let it cool, then chill in the fridge.
  • Alternatively, put 1 Green Tea Pod into Keurig machine. Select 6oz for the brew.
  • Strain the tea leaves if using loose tea. If you use a tea bag, simply remove it.

Step 3

Mix everything together

  • Blend: In a blender, combine the chilled green tea, frozen banana, fresh spinach, almond butter, maple syrup, cinnamon powder and ice cubes (if using). Blend until smooth.
  • Add Sweetener: Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness to your liking.
  • Add Garnish: Pour into a glass and top with whipped cream, if desired. Sprinkle with a little chopped nuts for extra texture.

This single-serving recipe is perfect for a quick refreshment. Feel free to adjust the sweetness and citrus levels to your liking!
